ALRAcademy Announcement
by Les Heltzer, Vice President of Professional Development
Greetings:
The critically-acclaimed ALRAcademy will be held from July
8-10, 2005, in Seattle. The Academy provides an intensive orientation into the practicalities
and legalities of the labor relations world for chairpersons, members, general counsels,
executive directors, and other agency executives. While attendees typically have
less than three years experience in their present positions, we welcome more-experienced
attendees.
We'll begin on Friday, July 8, with dinner and continue with
courses on representation procedures and unfair labor practice charges on Saturday and on
mediation techniques for settling cases on Sunday morning. Dialogue and humor flow freely through the offerings;
no one is bored.
ALRA will provide meals, course materials, and a friendly and
first-rate faculty. You need to cover only your transportation and hotel
accommodations.
ALRAcademy is one of the brightest stars in the ALRA firmament.
Every year the attendees rave about the education and hospitality they receive.
If your agency has any candidates for ALRAcademy, please send a
candidate registration form to the Academy Coordinator, Jackie
Zimmerman. You also can contact Jackie with questions or suggestions.
