Conference Registration:
For many years, the registration fee has
remained at $325 u.s.
(registration for the four-day conference is available only to ALRA member agencies).
Registration typically includes conference sessions and materials,
a Saturday evening reception, a Sunday brunch,
a Monday lunch, and a
Wednesday lunch and an evening banquet.

Please make hotel
reservations as soon as possible in order to insure
availability at the conference rate. Please recognize
that this is the "high" season for Seattle tourism. The hotel can offer the conference rate
for a limited number of rooms for additional days before or after the conference (July 5 through July 16). Hotel reservations must be made by conference
attendees and are not established by submitting a conference registration form
and payment. Please identify that you are attending the Association of Labor Relations Agencies'
Conference. Room types vary in terms of the size of
rooms, the number and the size of beds, and smoking or non-smoking
preference. Please state your preferences at the time of your reservation.
Note: waterfront rooms are not available at the
conference rate.
The Edgewater Hotel was built
in 1962 for the World's Fair. It remains Seattle's only waterfront
hotel with panoramic views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains.
In 1964, during their world tour, the Beatles were guests of the Edgewater,
and fished from their hotel room.
Conference Hotel Rate: $143
(anticipated rate)
- plus hotel bed and sales tax of 15.6%;
one queen bed for single or double
- readily available; one king bed for single or double - limited
availability; two double beds for triple or quadruple
arrangements - limited availability.

Room Amenities:
mini bar, gas log fireplace, data port phones, voice mail, iron,
ironing board, bath amenities, bathrobes, and in room coffee service with complimentary
Starbuck's Coffee. Hopefully, the sun will shine during your stay;
however, should raindrops fall, each room has an umbrella as an amenity.
Business Center: open 24
hours/day via your room key card, a computer with internet access and a printer/copier is available on a
first-come basis.
Wireless Internet Access: for
$10/day, the hotel offers a wireless internet access service for your laptop.
Fitness: the on-site
fitness center includes stair master equipment, stationary bicycles, a tread
mill, and barbells. In addition, the hotel offers complementary bicycles
to its guests. There is a bike path near the hotel.
Hotel Food Service:
Six Seven Restaurant and Lounge - The name is
derived from the pier (67). The restaurant has indoor and outdoor
seating.
It offers Pacific Norwest style cuisine with contemporary
Pan-Asian and American dishes, and has a Sushi and
Raw Bar.
Room Service - available from 6:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Nearby Activities: With
the hotel situated on Pier 67, guests are within walking distance of the Space
Needle, Pike Place Market, Seattle Aquarium, Odyssey Maritime Museum, Victoria
Clipper, and Washington State Ferries. The hotel offers a free shuttle
service within the downtown area. Also, guests can catch the nearby trolley for quick
access to shopping, entertainment, and fine dining.
Transportation to Hotel
from Airport: 30 minutes (hotel is 17
miles from airport)
Town Car Service - $45 from airport to
hotel; $35 from hotel to airport {call hotel for arrangements}.
Taxi - $30-$40.
Shuttle Express - $21 for one or two passengers, runs every
15 minutes at airport; make a reservation for your return trip.
Grayline - $11 for one passenger. For
those on a very tight budget, Grayline is the cheapest way to get to the hotel.
This option involves one transfer. From the
airport, you will be taken to a major downtown hotel where a Grayline van
is dispatched to shuttle you to the Edgewater
Hotel. Make a reservation for your
return trip.

From SEA-TAC AIRPORT:
When leaving the airport, follow the street signs onto Interstate 5 North.
Follow I-5 North into the city, and take the Dearborn / James / Madison
Street exit, following the directional signs to Madison Street. At the first
stop light, turn left on to Madison Street and follow down to the
waterfront, coming to a "T" with Alaskan Way. Turn right onto Alaskan Way,
and continue down for about one mile to The Edgewater located on Pier 67 on
your left, just past the Bell Harbor International Conference Center.
