Mark your calendars now for June 25-28, 2014 for the 2014 ALRA Conference. This year’s conference will be held at the Hilton hotel in downtown Seattle.
A block of rooms has been reserved for conference attendees at a reduced rate of $199 US per night. The deadline for reserving at this rate is May 30, 2014. You may reserve rooms at this rate by calling the Hilton’s Central Reservation number at 800.426.0535 or the hotel directly at 206.624.0500. You must indicate that you are with the ALRA Conference to obtain the group rate.

Travel Grants for the 2014 Conference
The ALRA Executive Board has agreed again this year to provide first-time attendees with the opportunity of obtaining an $800 grant to attend the 2014 Annual Conference to be held in Seattle, Washington State from June 25 to June 28, 2014. In order to qualify for the grant, you must meet all the following criteria:
- You have never attended an ALRA Conference
- You are a member or an employee of an ALRA member agency
- You must submit a written request on or before May 9, 2014
You may make your request by writing to Ginette Brazeau, Vice-President Professional Development at Ginette.firstname.lastname@example.org. You must provide your name, mailing and email address, the name of your ALRA member-agency and any information you feel would support your request. Anyone making a request for a travel grant must also provide the name of a person at their agency that can be contacted to verify that they are authorized to attend the conference and that their agency is unable to underwrite the full cost of the conference.
The Grant of up to $800 will be payable upon submission of receipts following the Conference. Acceptable reimbursable expenses include the hotel cost and air transportation to and from Seattle. ALRA will not reimburse any other travel-related expenses.
There are a limited number of grants available and a decision on the recipients of the grants will be made on a first come first served basis.
