Travel Grants for the 2013 Conference
The ALRA Executive Board has agreed again this year to provide first-time attendees with the opportunity of obtaining a $500 grant to attend the 2013 Annual Conference to be held in Washington, D.C. from July 20 to July 24, 2013.
In order to qualify for the grant, you must meet all the following criteria:
- You have never attended an ALRA Conference
- You are a member or an employee of an ALRA member agency who’s dues are current
- You must submit a written request on or before June 14, 2013
You may make your request by writing to Ginette Brazeau, Vice-President Professional Development at Ginette.firstname.lastname@example.org. You must provide your name, mailing and email address, the name of your ALRA member-agency and any information you feel would support your request.
Anyone making a request for a travel grant must also provide the name of a person at their agency that can be contacted to verify that they are authorized to attend the conference and that their agency is unable to underwrite the full cost of the conference.
The Grant of up to $500 will be payable upon submission of receipts following the Conference. Acceptable reimbursable expenses include the hotel cost and air or train transportation to and from Washington. ALRA will not reimburse any other travel-related expenses.
There are a limited number of grants available and a decision on the recipients of the grants may be made on a first come first served basis.
