The ALRA Conference planning committee has been working diligently to put together a diverse and stimulating program.

A block of rooms is available for the ALRA Conference at the Westin Nova Scotian hotel in Halifax, Nova Scotia at the group rate of $159 Canadian per night (approximately $115 US). Hotel reservations for the 2016 ALRA Conference may be made online by clicking the link below. Reservations will be accepted until June 14, 2016, or until our room block has been exhausted.
Travel Grants | 2016 ALRA Conference
The ALRA Executive Board has agreed again this year to provide first-time attendees the opportunity of obtaining an $800 grant to attend the 2016 Annual Conference in Halifax, Nova Scotia from July 16 to July 19, 2016.
In order to qualify for the grant, you must meet all the following criteria:
- You have never attended an ALRA Conference
- You are a member or an employee of an ALRA member agency
- You must submit a written request on or before May 9, 2016
You may make your request by writing to Mike Sellars, Vice-President Professional Development at Mike.firstname.lastname@example.org. You must provide your name, mailing and email address, the name of your ALRA member-agency, and any information you feel would support your request.
Anyone making a request for a travel grant must also provide the name of a person at their agency that can be contacted to verify that they are authorized to attend the conference and that their agency is unable to underwrite the full cost of the conference.
The Grant of up to $800 will be payable upon submission of receipts following the Conference. Acceptable reimbursable expenses include the hotel cost and air transportation to and from Halifax. ALRA will not reimburse any other travel-related expenses.
